Abstract: Rare example of a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersection that is signalized, but is not a superstreet. All left turns and cross-street through movements must use turnbacks.
Abstract: At main intersection, left turns from Sam Furr Rd onto Statesville Rd are restricted. These lefts are redirected to use Holly Point Dr in SE quadrant.
Abstract: DDI openned in 2014. At 2 nearby intersections, left turns onto Poplar Tent Rd are restricted by superstreet designs, with one loon on either side of I-85.
Abstract: I-485 will be completed as a beltway around Charlotte with a couple of new interchanges. The interchange at this location will be a DDI. Originally planned for a 10 lane SPUI bridge with failing LOS, I was able to convert this to a 7 lane DDI with LOS D or better for all movements in the design year.
